Put your website online with Netlify

You received a ZIP file from us with your website and your 2 ads. This guide shows you how to put your website online for free and connect your own domain name. No technical knowledge needed.

1. Unzip2. Netlify account3. Upload website4. Change name5. Connect domain6. Make changes7. Your ads

1. Unzip your files

  1. Download the ZIP file from our email.
  2. Right-click it → Extract all (Windows) or double-click it (Mac).
  3. You get two folders: website and ads. The website folder contains a file called index.html, which is your homepage.
Tip: use a computer. Uploading to Netlify doesn't work well from a phone.

2. Create a free Netlify account

  1. Go to app.netlify.com/signup.
  2. Sign up with your email address or Google account.
  3. Choose the free plan. No credit card needed.

3. Upload your website

  1. In Netlify, go to Sites (or Projects) → Add new site → Deploy manually.
  2. Drag the entire website folder into the box that appears. Note: drag the folder itself, not the ZIP file.
  3. After a few seconds your website is online at an address like random-name-123.netlify.app.
  4. Click that link to view your website. 🎉
Seeing a “Page not found” error? Check that index.html is directly inside the folder you drag, not in another subfolder.

4. Give your website a nice name

  1. Open your site in Netlify → Site configuration → Change site name.
  2. Choose e.g. mystore. Your address becomes mystore.netlify.app.

Don't want your own domain? Then you're done and can use this address in your ads.

5. Connect your own domain name

No domain yet?

Buy one from a registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, Hostinger or One.com (usually €5–15 per year). You can also buy a domain directly in Netlify via Domain management → Add a domain → Register; then everything is set up automatically and you can skip step B.

A. Add your domain in Netlify

  1. Open your site → Domain management → Add a domain.
  2. Enter your domain, e.g. mystore.com, and confirm.

B. Change the DNS at your registrar — choose one option

Option 1 (recommended, easiest): use Netlify DNS

  1. In Netlify, click Set up Netlify DNS next to your domain and follow the steps.
  2. Netlify shows you 4 nameservers (e.g. dns1.p01.nsone.net).
  3. Log in to your registrar, find Nameservers or DNS servers, and replace the existing ones with Netlify's 4.
Do you use email on this domain (e.g. info@mystore.com)? Copy your MX records into Netlify DNS first, or choose option 2, so your email keeps working.

Option 2: set DNS records at your registrar

Go to DNS management at your registrar and set these records (remove existing A records for @ and www first):

TypeName / hostValue
A@ (or empty)75.2.60.5
CNAMEwwwmystore.netlify.app

Replace mystore.netlify.app with your own Netlify address from step 4. Netlify also shows the exact values under Domain management; when in doubt, always follow what it says there.

C. Wait and HTTPS

  1. DNS changes usually take 15 minutes to a few hours, sometimes up to 48 hours.
  2. As soon as your domain works, Netlify automatically sets up a free SSL certificate (the padlock 🔒). Check this under Domain management → HTTPS; click Verify DNS configuration if needed.

6. Change your website later

  1. Edit the files in your website folder (or ask us: small changes within 7 days are free).
  2. In Netlify, go to Deploys and drag the updated folder into the upload box at the bottom again.
  3. Your website (and your domain) is updated immediately.

7. Using your 2 ads

  1. In the ads folder you'll find 2 ads in vertical format (9:16) plus a text file with the matching ad copy.
  2. Upload them in TikTok Ads Manager or Meta Ads Manager (Facebook & Instagram).
  3. Use your own domain or your .netlify.app address as the destination URL.
  4. Start small (e.g. €10–20 per day per ad) and check after 2–3 days which ad performs best.
